2010 VW Golf GTI VI Production Model Photos

Volkswagen's public UK site has uploaded a new set of photos depicting the production version of the 2010 VW Golf GTI VI. But wait; didn't the Germans introduce the production model at last year's Paris Show, we hear you ask? The answer is sort of as VW unveiled the near-to-production GTI VI. And the differences are? Well, if our eyes aren't playing games with us, the only visible changes we see by comparing these photos with the ones from last year's show car are the more-production like headlamps and the blacked out front lip spoiler that was painted white on the Paris Show Golf GTI.

KW Automotive Launches New Sport Suspension Kits for VW Golf VI

Bypassing the neat alloy wheels that are featured in KW Automotive's press pics but are not offered as part of the package, the German-based company has released three new suspension kits for the latest VW Golf. The V1, V2 and V3 KW coilover suspensions lower the sixth-generation Golf by 1.4-2.6 inch (35-65mm) on the front and the rear axle. While the V1 has preset dampening rates, the V2 kit allows drivers to make modifications in ride height and rebound dampening. As for the range-topping V3 kit, it permits an even higher degree of customization to the suspension with adjustable (and independent reacting) rebound and compression damping.

Bologna Motorshow: VW Golf Plus Collectors Edition Concept Study

Maserati VW Golf Plus Collectors Edition As well as revealing the production-ready Golf Plus facelift, Volkswagen also unwrapped a concept version of its high-roofline hatch at the Bologna auto show. Developed by VW's Individual division, the Golf Plus Collectors Edition is outfitted with an exclusive "White pearl effect" body color and a set of much new 18-inch "Bilbao" alloy wheels wrapped around in 225/40 rubber. But what really makes this concept study stand out from the rest of the Golf Plus range is its customized interior, and in particular... the "Italiano" espresso machine integrated in the center console.

Other unique features of the car's cabin include the high-gloss black piano paint accents and the high-end nappa leather seats in "Titanium black" and "St. Tropez" (cream white) with decorative "Viaggio" seams between the individual sections of leather trim.

New VW Golf Plus Breaks Cover at Bologna Motor Show

VW Golf Plus FaceliftWhat VW sees as the second-generation Golf Plus but is in reality a mildly facelfited version of the more practical Golf, made its debut at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy. The subtly updated, plus-sized Golf, attempts to forge a link to the bodystyle of the Golf VI hatchback especially in what concerns the front end design with a new grille, redesigned bumper and revised headlamps. The rear bumper and roof rails were also redesigned as were the 'cherry red' rear lights that now incorporate LED technology. The exterior styling modifications are complemented by a range of new wheel and tire options, including 18-inch 'Bilbao' alloy wheels from VW's Individual division.

VW Golf Plus FaceliftInside the cabin, changes are equally limited and concern new upholstery materials and details that have been carried over from the new Golf. There's also new steering wheel options and air conditioning systems that are similar in design to those found in the new Golf and Passat CC.

Volkswagen has still to be confirm the full engine lineup, but there will a 1.4-litre 122HP TSI gasoline engine which is forecast to return 44.8 mpg UK with a top speed of 124 mph and a range of diesel units with outputs between 90HP and 140HP

For the first time on the Golf Plus, VW will offer its new ParkAssist system that has the ability to operate the steering automatically during reverse parallel parking manoeuvres. A rear-view camera, mounted behind the Volkswagen roundel on the bootlid, will also be available as an option

Prices, engines and specifications for the new Golf Plus will be announced closer to the vehicle's launch in Spring 2009.

2009 VW Golf Plus Brochure Handed out by Mistake at Essen Motorshow!

The facelifted VW Golf Plus was supposed to break cover at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy on December 3 but an accidental release of the car's brochure at the firm's Essen Motorshow stand has given us our first view of minivan. As you can see from the brochure scans published by Dutch newspaper De Telegraff, changes on the front end are limited to the Golf VI inspired bumper and grille along with the restyled headlights. We're not aware of any other changes but expect to see an updated trim for the interior as well as a few minor mechanical improvements.

ABT Sport Package for the New VW Golf VI with up to 240HP

Every time the Volkswagen Group comes out with a new model, you can rely upon ABT Sportsline to present a full tuning package. Such is the case with the brand-new VW Golf VI that was revealed this past October in Paris. For the ABT Golf VI, the Kempten-based company has developed a sporty visual package geared to a series of upgraded mechanical components. With ABT's engine kit, the standard 122HP 1.4 TSI cranks out 160HP while the more powerful version of the same engine produces 200HP insetad of 160HP. For the diesel line-up, ABT's kit boosts the standard 2.0 TDI's output from 140 to 170HP. Even though the Golf GTI VI won't be introduced until next year, ABT has announced that the 2.0 FSI will produce 240HP thanks to a 30HP bump.

In terms of handling upgrades, ABT Sportsline equips the Golf VI with a high-perfromace braking system and a sport suspension. ABT also outfits the new German hatchback with a bodykit that comprises a front grill and apron, side sills, a roof spoiler and a rear apron in which the slanted 4-pipe exhaust is integrated. A set of 18 or 19-inch AR and BR rims round off the appearance.

ABT will showcase its tuning package for the new VW Golf VI for the first time at the Essen Motorshow on November 29.
