BMW PAS: 5-Series Hatchback Teased Ahead of Geneva Debut

BMW has released the first video of a series presenting the concept behind the 5-Series spin-off, the Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) that will be revealed for the first time at the Geneva Show, according to our Bavarian sources. We guess you're wondering what the PAS is; well to put it short, it's a more practical, hatchback version of the 5-Series sedan with a higher roofline, a coupe-like fastback rear-end and slightly raised road clearance. Sounds 'bungled' up, but we'll give BMW the benefit of the doubt until we see the PAS the in person. Hit the jump for the video.

Official BMW X6 M Video Confirms Production Version, Power to come from Twin-Turbo V8

BMW has confirmed through a new teaser video - to be exact, in the description of the video- that the forthcoming X5 M (see the teaser film of the prototype model here) will be joined by an X6 M model that will be introduced later in the year. In this latest video, for the first time BMW reveals that both the X5 and X6 M will share a new 'M' prepped twin-scroll turbocharged V8 engine combined with a rear-wheel biased all-wheel drive system.

Up until now, the most powerful variants of the X5 and X6 models are equipped with BMW's new 408HP 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, something that leads us to believe that the 'M' variant of the V8 will deliver an output well over the 500HP mark. Our sources state that BMW will also use this engine on the next generation M5 and M6 models.

BMW X5 M: Official Video of Prototype Model

The M version of the X5 has been an on-off story ever since BMW introduced the first generation model of its mid-sized luxury SUV in 1999. Now, for the first time, BMW has not only publicly admitted than it's working on a X5 M variant, but the Bavarian automaker went one step further by releasing an official video of a prototype model undergoing testing. BMW did not disclose any specific details, with the video showing Bernd Limmer from BMW M GmbH driving the X5 M prototype at the Nurburging race track and at the same time explaining what's so special about the M models. No word yet on when -and if- the BMW X5 M will find its way into production.

Video: BMW's Interactive Touch-Screen Product Navigator

What once we could only enjoy through sci-fi movies has now become part of our everyday life. Using Mircosoft's Surface technology BMW has come up with a new way to show off its vehicles to potential customers and at the same time remind them that nowadays, the brand is as much about "The Ultimate Driving Machine" as it is for high-tech gadgetry. Called the "BMW Product Navigator", the touch screen system allows potential BMW buyers to configure their new car in an interactive way. If you still have questions about how it works, then skip the jump to watch the video.

Video: BMW M3 and Porsche 911 Driven Like They Should

The only negative aspect that we could found with this video featuring two of the most popular German sportscars, the latest generation BMW M3 and a Porsche 911 Carrera S, is its short length - only a minute long. Follow the jump below to watch the film that was shot somewhere in Greece and you'll catch our 'drift'... -Thanks for the tip Christos!
